1. Information we collect

To provide IP checks and network measurement and to keep the service secure, the Site collects the technical and usage information necessary for those purposes — mainly to provide the service, not to identify you personally — summarized as:

• Network information: the IP you look up, and your current exit IP and its network ownership. Your exit IP is de-identified server-side before it is used for statistics.
• Device & browser information: routine technical information read to tell real visitors from automated scripts and to maintain service quality.
• Usage information: page visits and basic interaction and performance data, used for analysis and improvement.
• Cookies & local storage: to remember your language and theme and maintain a session; if ads are enabled, third-party advertising cookies also apply (see section 4).

2. How we use the information

• To provide, maintain and improve the Site's check and measurement features.
• To keep the service secure and available and to prevent abuse (e.g. rate limiting, telling human from automated traffic).
• To display ads once enabled (see below).

We do not sell your personal data or use it for purposes unrelated to the above.

3. Data retention

Information is cleaned up automatically by expiry policy: more-identifiable fields are cleared or de-identified on a shorter cycle, keeping only de-identified statistics to the extent necessary.

4. Advertising & Google AdSense

Because the Site one-way hashes exit IPs and does not collect direct identifiers such as name or email, a record usually cannot be traced back to an individual. If you have an access, correction or deletion request about a specific IP or measurement record, contact us via the contact page and we will cooperate to the extent reasonable.

The Site targets a general technical audience, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date on this page will change. Material changes will be highlighted. Continued use means acceptance of the updated policy.
